Welcome to our beautiful part of Australia

At Green Olive at Red Hill we grow olives, grapes, herbs and veggies, raise sheep and chooks and turn amazing produce from local farmers into a range of goodies you’ll love. Green Olive at Red Hill is a family business – we are; Greg and Sue O’Donoghue, our children Sam and Sophie, two Kelpies (Inca and Rasa), one Maremma (Pisa), 40 sheep, 60 chooks and Indian Runner Ducks!

Our 27 acre farm is located one hour from Melbourne at Red Hill, in the wine growing region of the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Our rich volcanic soils, cool climate and “between the bays location” is the ideal place for growing quality food and wine.

Set on a hillside and overlooking our large dam we have the most picturesque setting for visitors to enjoy a wide range of farm produce tapas dishes, wine from our vineyard, cooking classes and our unique Farm Gate Experience.

This Matching Food and Wine experience enables you to enjoy Green Olive at Red Hill produce with matching Kelpie Bridge wines. We will guide you through a tasting of 5 of our Kelpie Bridge wines matched with 5 bite size tapas dishes especially created to walk your tastebuds around our property.

Farm Tour and Lunch

Farm Tour and Lunch

Enjoy a tour of Green Olive at Red Hill, learning all about the olive grove, vineyard, lambs, and chickens and of course the lush kitchen garden. The farm tour is followed by tasting and testing of the freshest farm grown olives, olive oil and olive oil body products as well as discussion about the products you are sampling, biological farming and our sustainability practices. Meanwhile, a farm produce lunch is prepared by the chefs in the kitchen with ingredients from the property.
Tapas Lunch
Each person will enjoy a glass of Kelpie Bridge Wine, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from our farm served with bread, a choice of any two tapas dishes from the menu, followed by a handmade dessert and fresh farm roasted coffee or loose leaf tea. We cater for all dietary requirements so please advise our staff of any special requirements.

Meet the Farmer & the Chef

Green Olive at Red Hill has established itself as one of the premier ‘Agritourism’ properties in Australia. Spend time on a walking tour though the olive grove, learning all about biological farming, olive oil and table olives. Wander through the vineyard and get a feel for why ‘terroir’ plays such an important role in producing great wines. Learn all about seasonal produce in the ‘kitchen’ garden, while touching, feeling, smelling and being a part of the food you will then cook.
This Food and Wine experience is all about rolling up your sleeves and joining the farmer in the paddock and the chef in the kitchen. You will use your culinary skills and by guided by our expert chef to create a true “paddock to plate dish.”
Once the hard work is done sit down and enjoy your food creation with a glass of wine from Green Olive’s very own wine label – Kelpie Bridge.
